This week Prof. Coulson took the reins (Rose was at a workshop in Santa Fe, learning to be a better science writer!). Here are some of the resources the group discussed:
- Vaccines cause autism, until you look at the data. Neuroskeptic discusses research claiming a connection between vaccines and autism. He explains his own analyses and concludes that the only way the data could reflect such a connection is by using “statistical wizardry.”
- The facts in the case of Dr. Andrew Wakefield (the scientist who first made the–now debunked!–claim that vaccines cause autism). Darryl Cunningham uses a comic narrate how vaccine-autism rumor inception and development.
- This comic strip is the definitive smackdown to anti-vaxxers everywhere. No explanation necessary.
